WSB Awards Beerman Scholarship Recipients Learn More

Aaron Zehr of Clayton and Miranda White of Cape Vincent are the recipients of the 2016 Ed Beerman Jr. Memorial Community Service Scholarship.  Linda Paventi (far left) and Kerri Noone (far right) present scholarship checks in the amount of $500.00 to each recipient.  Aaron and Miranda are active members of the community who believe in supporting and giving back.  Congratulations to you both.

WSB SUPPORTS GARRETT W. LOOMIS FUND

Jeremy Powell, WSB Security Officer, presents a donation in support of the Garrett W. Loomis Fund to the Garrett W. Loomis Foundation, and Gary Ashline, Lewis County Representative of the Foundation.  The Northern New York Community Foundation established The Garrett Loomis Firefighters Fund to honor Sackets Harbor Fire Department Assistant Chief Garrett W. Loomis, who lost his life in 2010 from injuries sustained while fighting a silo fire in the town of Hounsfield.  The Fund provides grants to assist fire departments in obtaining training needed to address the unique requirements that agricultural related emergencies present.

The Purple Heart Scholarship Fund was established for service members who have been awarded the Purple Heart, and their immediate family members (spouse or child). Funds for this permanent endowment are raised each year by the Watertown Rotary club and managed by the Northern New York Community Foundation.
