WSB TO ACQUIRE NNYBI/REDWOOD BANK
Watertown Savings Bank and Northern New York Bancorp, Inc. (NNYBI), the holding company for Redwood Bank, have entered into a Merger Agreement providing for the acquisition of NNYBI by Watertown Savings Bank. Bradley T. Clark will remain as President and CEO of Watertown Savings Bank while Robert J. Sharlow, President and CEO of NNYBI and Redwood Bank will become a member of Watertown Savings Bank’s Board of Trustees. Redwood Bank will be maintained as a special purpose wholly-owned subsidiary of Watertown Savings Bank in order to hold and service municipal deposits. This acquisition will grow Watertown Savings Bank’s assets to nearly $400 million as well as expand their locations in the North country with branch offices in both Clayton and Alexandria Bay. |
